Happy new year everyone! 明けましておめでとうございます！
I hope you’re all enjoying the holidays. For me, I’m already looking forward to the next year since I’ll be back in Japan for Comiket, but first let’s look back at what happened in 2017!
I played a lot of Tree of Savior this year, but I’ve pretty much quit now. It may open up more time for actually playing eroge, which I didn’t do much of. In fact, I only played Hearts’ Natsuiro Kokoro Log and its fandisc Natsuiro Kokoro Log ~Happy Summer~, and sprite’s Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm EXTRA1 (Mashiro!!). I also spent most of my time planning trips that I either took this year (New York) or will take soon (Texas, Japan). Nevertheless, it’s still fun to keep up with what’s going on in the eroge world, which you can find summarized in the weekly news and monthly posts.
Random 2017 tidbits:
- What do you think was the best eroge of 2017? Kinkoi and Noratoto 2 seem to be decent picks for chara-ge, while Istoria and Yorumegu did a good job on the story front.
- Lass had declared bankruptcy in March, but Lass Pixy came back to finish the Pure Marriage series (Celica and Sakura). They even announced a harem chapter!
- Tech Arts and Chuable Soft also halted operations this year. I miss May-Be SOFT… :(
- Haikuo Soft’s Omokage Railback finally came out!
- With Maple and Cinnamon getting their turn in Nekopara Vol.3 that came out in April, does that just leave Shigure?
- I’m totally not surprised that Jun won Windmill’s Ko~cha heroine 2017 general election. Jun’s powers transcends all.
- Chinami says hi to all the onii-chans that are reading the English version of Hoshizora no Memoria!
- The CHAOS;CHILD, Noratoto and Dies irae anime adaptations came out this year, and the first Fate/stay night “Heaven’s Feel” movie hit the movie screens in October (and a few months later in the US). The anime for Grisaia: Phantom Trigger and ISLAND may be out next year.
- The 60 minute long Nekopara OVA recently came out after they successfully raised over $1 million on Kickstarter. There’s even a screening today in Akihabara UDX Theater!
- Is it just me or are there only FGO figures coming out lately? Then again, they’re making a killing from the gacha…
- I wonder if anyone ended up buying the 1/1 figure of Walroma‘s Celia?
- PangYa JP has sadly shut down. It will always remain in my heart as the game that introduced me to the
evilswonders of gacha. - I can’t believe I wasted a couple months ‘playing’ the horrible (and horribly nostalgic) Ragnarok Journey.
- August and Clearrave have joined the mobage train with Iris Mysteria! R and Bokura no Houkago Sensou. Luckily they’re on DMM GAMES, so I’m not playing them.
- Mirishita opened at the end of June and now I’m playing THREE im@s mobage. This is the main reason why I am barely doing anything else.
- I was all in for Nanami in the Cinderella Girls 6th general election. She didn’t end up ranking in the top 50, but I think that her popularity is rising. I’ll be supporting her this year again!
- In the meantime, please vote for Momoko as the Star in Mirishita‘s “Theater Boost”! 周防桃子をスタアに！
- More lives of varying sizes were held this year by Tinkle Position, August, tone works’, MadoSoft and Frontwing. GIGA will hold theirs next March.
- Did you participate in the Niizuma LOVELY×CATION VR wedding ceremony?
- Mashiro is too cute.

I’ll have to choose Ako for top imouto of the year!
Let’s see if I can make time to play more eroge in this coming year. I’m interested in Mirage Soft’s Koiflag and Hearts’ Koikoro. I also hope to see more info for sprite’s Aokana Zwei. Of course, I’ll also be busy producing on the unholy trinity of Deresute, Mobamas and Mirishita.
